Chasing the Mercy that Chases Us

Exodus 34:6-7

One commentator has noted that Exodus 34 is the theological center of the book of Exodus (Bruckner), and these verses especially highlight the mercy of God, which is one of the key attributes of God in dealing with us in our sin. But before we examine these verses, we need to take some time to examine the context leading up to this.
